Competence in ageing programmes since 2015
The Master’s Degree Programme in Active Ageing at Karelia UAS was launched in 2015 as a blended learning implementation. Since 2018, the programme has been implemented fully online. The online implementation has made it possible for students to participate in the programme wherever they are: the students come from all over Finland, and some are even based in other European countries.
The focus areas of the Degree Programme are Age-friendly Society and Active Ageing.
The Degree Programme will improve your capabilities for working in multiprofessional tasks that support the well-being, health, functional capacity and inclusion of older people as well as in demanding development and management tasks. You will also have entrepreneurial skills. In addition, you will have a vision and ability to influence the development of age-friendly communities, regions and societies.
The multiprofessional teacher team of the programme has solid experience and expertise not only in delivering and developing services for older people but also research and educational tasks. The team of teachers works closely together with working life experts and international partners.
